Ripple's McDonald Heads to Brooklyn for Stablecoin Discussion

Ripple's senior vice president of stablecoins, Jack McDonald, is heading to Brooklyn for the Real World Asset Summit. The event will take place from September 1 to 2 and will feature notable speakers including Jeremy Allaire, Circle CEO, and Ethereum cofounder Joseph Lubin. McDonald will be part of a panel discussion on day two of the event, titled 'Going Global', where he will discuss the growing global adoption of stablecoins.

McDonald hinted at the importance of Ripple USD (RLUSD) in his tweet, stating that it will be 'front and center' of the discussion. RLUSD recently crossed $2 billion for the first time in August, with over $1 billion issued on the XRP Ledger alone. This milestone came in less than two years since the launch of RLUSD.

Ripple made strategic investments in ZILO and Licuido to expand digital capital markets infrastructure on the XRP Ledger, using RLUSD as the regulated cash leg for transactions involving tokenized assets. Bybit also launched Phase 2 of its RLUSD Hold & Earn program after surpassing $50 million in assets under custody in just 11 days.
