Ripple's Pivotal Week: Upgrades, Institutional Deals, and a Potential Breakout
XRP is set to have a pivotal week in October, with four major dates lined up that could define its outlook. On October 3rd, Seoul will host banks and Ripple, while on the 7th, the Evernorth deal is expected to be completed. The next day, XRPN is scheduled to start trading on Nasdaq, bringing approximately 473 million XRP onto its balance sheet.
The XRPL Batch amendment (XLS-56) is also set for October 9th, which has already received over 85% of validators' support. This upgrade will empower the ledger to settle up to eight transactions atomically, a significant boost to the network's capacity given it currently processes over 200 million transactions per quarter.
The timing of this upgrade couldn't be better, with institutional adoption of XRP growing rapidly. Binance's top traders are accumulating long positions in XRP, skewing the long/short ratio in favor of the bulls.
From a technical perspective, XRP has been consolidating around $1.50 for over four weeks. If history is any guide, this range could lead to a sharp move in either direction. However, with a catalyst-heavy week ahead and rising long positioning, traders may be anticipating a breakout.
The liquidity picture also points bullish, with XRP's liquidity distributed across eight exchanges within a ±2% range. The increased bid liquidity gives buyers an edge as XRP nears a key inflection point.
