Ripple's UBRI Expands to 60 University Partners Worldwide

Ripple's University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI) has expanded to over 60 leading universities worldwide, marking a significant shift in blockchain research from theoretical studies to practical solutions. Launched by Ripple in 2018, UBRI connects academic research with real-world blockchain applications through funding, technical support, and open-source collaboration.

The initiative's latest report highlights three key areas of progress: AI-powered financial infrastructure, tokenized assets and digital markets, and post-quantum cryptography. Researchers are exploring ways artificial intelligence can automate payments and streamline financial decisions, potentially transforming the way transactions take place.

UBRI-sponsored university teams are also developing mechanisms to represent and trade real-world assets directly on blockchain platforms, aiming to improve efficiency and increase market liquidity. Additionally, researchers are working on new cryptographic techniques designed to safeguard blockchain networks against potential quantum threats in the future.
