Ripple's XRP Ledger integration with Stripe has reached a significant milestone. The RippleX team announced the release of version 1.1 of the XRP Ledger AI Starter Kit, which brings support for machine payments protocol (MPP) and open wallet standard to the XRPL. This development enables agents to discover, authorize, and settle payments without human involvement, expanding the use cases of XRPL in the machine-to-machine economy.

The kit allows agents to request resources, learn prices via HTTP 402, and settle in XRP or RLUSD. In the beta version, one-off payments and always-on XRP sessions via payment channels are supported for micropayments. Recurrent stablecoin sessions require a ledger upgrade, which is currently under development.

The RippleX team emphasized that the integration of XRP Ledger with Stripe's Machine Payments Protocol (MPP) redefines software payments. Instead of using API keys and monthly invoices, agents encounter a real paywall: the service provides a price, the agent authorizes it, and once confirmed, access begins.
