Ripple's XRP Ledger Sees Massive Surge in AI Agent Payments
Ripple's XRP Ledger has seen a significant surge in AI agent payments over the past few months, with tracked payments rising from one million to 7.09 million between July and September.
This growth is attributed to the increasing adoption of Ripple's XRPL AI Starter Kit, which enables agents to pay for APIs, inference, compute, and online services using XRP or RLUSD through x402 payment infrastructure.
The kit has been a major driver of this growth, with its launch on June 9 marking a turning point in the development of automated commerce systems on the XRPL network.
According to data from the XRPL AI Hub, there are now over 160 registered merchants and 2,276 live x402 services, with a seven-day average of 165,325 payments daily across tracked services.
