Ripple's XRP Ledger Upgrade Delayed After Validator Support Falters
An upgrade to the XRP Ledger called Batch has been delayed by at least 10 days after its activation clock was reset. Validators, which are operators that check transactions and vote on changes to the network, briefly fell below the required threshold of support. This reset the countdown for the Batch feature, which would allow users to submit up to eight transactions together, including all-or-nothing exchanges.
The corrected upgrade, formally named BatchV1_1, regained support from 30 of 35 trusted validators on September 25. If this support holds, the earliest activation date for Batch is now October 9. The feature had been counting down since September 15 and was expected to activate on September 29.
A separate upgrade that allows account owners to delegate specific tasks without sharing signing keys was also delayed. This feature, called PermissionDelegationV1_1, would allow a business to authorize another account to perform approved actions without sharing the signing keys that control its funds.
