RISEx Offers Thief Deal: Keep 20%, Return Rest by Sept 23
RISEx, a decentralized exchange, has proposed a deal to an attacker who stole funds from the XLP treasury. The team sent an on-chain message to the attacker, stating that they have observed the movement of the stolen USDC. The proposal includes keeping 20% (approximately 134,566 USDC) of the stolen funds for the attacker, while returning the remaining 80% (around 538,265 USDC or equivalent ETH) to the official Ethereum or Base address by September 23.
The team suggests handling the returned funds in a 'white hat hacker' manner. This comes after RISEx tweeted on August 4 about an unauthorized withdrawal related to the RWA strategy associated with the XLP treasury, affecting around 673,011.56 USDC.
