River Financial Sues Blockstream Services Canada for $6.7M in Unpaid Fees

River Financial Inc. has filed a lawsuit against Blockstream Services Canada ULC for allegedly breaching their termination agreement, seeking $6.7 million in unpaid fees.

The dispute centers on contractual payments rather than Bitcoin custody or customer funds, and the termination arrangement required Blockstream Services Canada to refund prepaid or upfront fees owed to River Financial and make an additional early termination payment of $3.15 million.

River Financial alleges that these obligations arose under the parties' termination agreement and that Blockstream Services Canada has failed to make amounts due since March 31, 2026.

Blockstream Corp, which operates a Bitcoin infrastructure company, has moved to separate itself from the defendant despite sharing the same Blockstream name.
