RLUSD Supply Tops $2.3 Billion After Eight-Month Launch
Ripple's stablecoin RLUSD has reached a significant milestone, surpassing $2.3 billion in supply as of August 31. This achievement comes just eight months after its launch in December 2024.
The token's circulating supply and market capitalization stood at approximately $2.37 billion on the same day, according to CoinGecko. RLUSD continued trading close to its intended $1 peg, with growth driven by supply rather than price appreciation.
Ripple recorded 11 million tokens minted and another 11 million burned in a single transaction on August 31. This move highlights the importance of understanding that minting does not necessarily translate to net demand. The matching burn removes tokens from supply but can also accompany customer redemptions, treasury management, or network rebalancing.
