RLUSD Surpasses $2.5B as Ripple's Stablecoin Outpaces XRP

Ripple's stablecoin RLUSD has surpassed $2.5 billion in market capitalization, growing over 85% this year.

This growth is notable as it leaves XRP, Ripple's native token, trailing behind with a current price of around $1.51 and a decline of about 59% from its all-time high set on July 17, 2025.

The divergence between RLUSD and XRP has raised questions about the relationship between the two assets. Data shows that roughly 55% of RLUSD's supply is held outside of the XRP ecosystem, with a significant portion residing on Ethereum.

Ripple's description of RLUSD as natively issued on XRPL, Ethereum, and other blockchains highlights its flexible nature. However, this does not provide evidence that RLUSD growth drives XRP demand.
