Robinhood and Crypto.com Lead Charge into Prediction Markets
Racing to own the prediction markets space, Robinhood and Crypto.com are making significant moves. According to The Wall Street Journal, both platforms are in active discussions to expand their presence in this fast-growing corner of finance.
Prediction markets involve trading contracts tied to real-world outcomes like elections, sports, and economic indicators. In 2025, Robinhood launched its Prediction Markets Hub through a partnership with Kalshi, one of the few CFTC-regulated event contract exchanges in the country. The hub saw around 11-12 billion contracts traded in its launch year, pushing prediction market revenue into genuine competition with Robinhood's crypto trading segment.
Crypto.com launched its own CFTC-regulated prediction markets platform, called OG, in February 2026. This move positions Crypto.com as a direct competitor in the event-contracts space alongside Robinhood and existing regulated players.
