Robinhood Brings Crypto Perpetual Futures to U.S. Traders with Up to 10x Leverage
Roland Quittner here. Robinhood is taking its derivatives offering to a whole new level by introducing crypto perpetual futures for eligible U.S. customers.
The perpetual contracts will allow traders to take long or short positions without an expiration date, with up to 10x leverage on Bitcoin and Ether and 3x leverage on the remaining six markets.
This move follows Robinhood's earlier perpetual futures rollout in Europe, which has already expanded into commodities, ETFs, and foreign exchange. The contracts will be offered through Bitstamp, a CFTC-registered futures commission merchant and a member of the National Futures Association.
Trading fees for these contracts will start at 0.01% per transaction until the end of 2026, and traders will have access to features such as stop-loss and take-profit orders, real-time liquidation prices, and alerts when leveraged positions approach liquidation levels.
