Robinhood Chain Activity Driven by Existing Crypto Traders

Share

Robinhood Chain's activity has been under scrutiny after ARK Invest research director Lorenzo Valente analyzed its transaction data. He found that most of the network activity was driven by existing crypto traders, rather than new users joining the platform.

The study examined smart contract data from the network and identified transactions connected to Robinhood products. However, it revealed that only a small percentage of activity came directly from Robinhood Wallet users. Instead, external platforms like GMGN and OKX played a significant role in driving transaction volume on the network.

The analysis showed that these platforms enabled users to interact with the blockchain without using Robinhood Wallet. This led to a surge in decentralized exchange activity, with GMGN producing over $1.11 million in revenue during a 24-hour period.

Valente's findings suggest that the growth of Robinhood Chain is more related to existing crypto adopters than new users onboarding to the platform.
