Robinhood Chain Defenders Push Back Against Short-Term Critics
A recent wave of commentary declared Robinhood Chain a failure due to a drop in its fee revenue, but two notable figures have pushed back against this assessment.
Haseeb Qureshi, managing partner at Dragonfly, and Hayden Adams, founder of Uniswap, argue that the decline in revenue is not a sign of fading demand, but rather a deliberate cut to trading costs.
The network's daily DeFi volume held up despite the drop in revenue, with chain revenues sliding while decentralized exchange (DEX) volume stayed strong. Qureshi noted that the network is 'solidly #2 behind Solana', and Adams said it was 'funny' to watch people declare the chain dead due to the fees chart when actually they just scaled up capacity to meet massive blockspace demand.
Royalhood Chain recorded $403,000 in chain revenue and about $448,600 in fees over the past 24-hour window, against the $1.81 billion that it recorded in DEX volume within the same 24 hours. The stablecoin market cap on the chain has passed $1 billion, up about 12% week over week and 72% over the past month.
