Robinhood Chain Empowers Global Trading with Tokenized Assets
Rising to the challenge in the increasingly competitive world of tokenization and blockchain development, Robinhood has developed its own comprehensive blockchain infrastructure known as the Robinhood Chain. Officially launched on July 1, this Layer-2 network utilizes Arbitrum's technology and exclusively uses ETH as its native gas token for transaction fees, effectively ruling out the possibility of introducing a proprietary Robinhood token.
The Robinhood Chain aims to facilitate the trading of tokenized real-world assets, specifically focusing on stock tokens that mirror US equities and ETFs. The platform has already rolled out tokenized securities to eligible users across more than 120 countries, with a strong emphasis on European markets. A notable feature is its empowerment of 24/7 trading of these tokenized assets, eliminating traditional market hours restrictions.
The partnership with Uniswap provides crucial liquidity infrastructure from day one, enhancing the offerings available on the chain. With the space for tokenizing traditional assets rapidly growing, Robinhood's no-token strategy ensures users don't need to acquire unfamiliar assets for transaction costs. Instead, they only need ETH, which is widely available on major exchanges and stored in many crypto wallets.
