Robinhood Chain Surges Despite User Decline
The Robinhood Chain has achieved an impressive feat in its first month of operation. Despite experiencing a 7% decline in daily active users, which peaked at 323,969 on July 21 and cooled to an average of 275,000 by late July, the chain saw record-breaking capital inflows.
Total Value Locked (TVL) on Robinhood Chain reached $588.9 million on July 21, surpassing $500 million in its early weeks. Cumulative Decentralized Exchange (DEX) volume since launch landed between $8 billion to $9 billion.
The chain's DeFi integrations are driving the surge in deposits and TVL. Morpho, a lending protocol, saw its deposits on Robinhood Chain increase by 74% in a single week, reaching $222 million. Aave, another major lending integration, offers yield opportunities including a 7% return on USDG deposits.
The nearly $589 million in TVL accumulated in under a month puts Robinhood Chain ahead of where many established chains were at the same stage. However, investors should monitor Morpho and Aave deposit rates on Robinhood Chain relative to other networks, as a significant narrowing of that spread could trigger migration of capital.
