Robinhood Chain Surges Past Solana in Tokenized Stock Trading
Tokenized equities have been pitched as a way to unlock global access and continuous trading for stocks, but until recently, they haven't generated much volume. However, a new use case has emerged: pairing tokenized stocks with memecoins on the Robinhood Chain.
In mid-July, launch platforms Bankr and long.xyz began allowing users to issue memecoins backed by tokenized stock liquidity across over 90 tickers on the chain. This mechanism has pushed the Robinhood Chain past Solana in tokenized stock trading volume.
The top 100 pools on the chain now include memecoins paired against tokenized NVDA, TSLA, INTC, RBLX, and SPCX, with a cumulative chain DEX volume exceeding $9 billion. However, most of this volume is from higher-risk memecoins, while tokenized stocks are only a sliver of the chain's activity.
