Robinhood Chain Surpasses Binance as Major Player in Crypto Market
Robinhood Markets has emerged as a significant player in the crypto space, thanks to its newly launched blockchain, the Robinhood Chain. This layer 2 network is capable of handling high volumes of tokenized stocks and trading them quickly and cheaply. With over 28 million users, Robinhood's massive user base positions it to become a major force in the crypto market.
The Binance chain, which has been around for years, is facing competition from Robinhood Chain. According to a recent report by Binance Research, together the two chains handled around 88.2% of tokenized stock trading on decentralized exchanges in early September, up from just 2.3% in June.
Roninhood's user-friendly interface and large user base are contributing factors to its success. The company has also been able to onboard large sums of tokenized assets quickly, giving it a competitive edge over other chains like Coinbase's Base chain, which has only $7.5 million in tokenized stocks.
Investors can buy into Robinhood's crypto push by purchasing the company's stock, but it is worth noting that its crypto revenue declined by 38% to reach $100 million in the second quarter of this year. This decline may be a concern for investors who are looking to capitalize on the growth of the crypto market.
