Robinhood Chain Surpasses Ethereum in Daily Fees and Transactions
Robinhood Chain's rapid growth has surpassed even Ethereum in daily transaction fees within its first two months, according to recent data. This milestone is a significant achievement for Robinhood, which has been under pressure after reporting $100 million in crypto transaction revenue for the second quarter of 2026, down 38% year over year.
The company's CEO Vlad Tenev has responded by leaning heavily into tokenization and Robinhood Chain, aiming to replicate what Coinbase built with Base over several years. The strategy appears to be gaining traction, as Robinhood Chain collected $1.07 million in chain fees against Base's roughly $93,215 on August 30.
The growth of Robinhood Chain is driven by rapid growth in tokenized real-world assets (RWA) and a breakout token launchpad called Pons. The platform has already processed more than 453 million total transactions since its mainnet launch on July 1, 2026.
