Robinhood Chain Trading Volume Surges to $2 Billion on Tokenized Equity Frenzy
Robinhood Chain, a relatively new decentralized exchange (DEX), has seen its trading volume surge to $2 billion as activity climbs 61% over a matter of days. The Ethereum layer 2 network's DEX volume reached $1.58 billion in the last 24 hours and weekly figures rose nearly 90%, according to DefiLlama data.
The rapid growth is largely driven by tokenized equities, with representations of stocks like Nvidia and Apple being used as collateral in DeFi transactions. Over a 30-day window, these tokenized stocks generated $4.3 billion in DEX volume on the chain, with daily real-world asset trading peaking at $85 million on August 25.
The primary trading venue is Uniswap, which handles the bulk of swap activity on the chain. Morpho Blue leads on the lending side, holding roughly $481 million in total value locked (TVL), which represents the majority of the chain's overall TVL figure of approximately $735 million. The stablecoin supply sits at around $797 million, with USDG accounting for a significant share and serving as the main fuel for Morpho's lending markets.
As Robinhood Chain is built on the Arbitrum stack, it shares infrastructure DNA with one of Ethereum's most established layer 2 networks. This arrangement includes a 10% fee share with Arbitrum, giving the underlying network a direct financial stake in Robinhood Chain's continued growth.
