Robinhood Crypto Trading Volume Jumps 61% Amid Year-Over-Year Decline

Share

Robinhood's cryptocurrency trading volume surged 61% in August 2026 compared to July, reaching $17.5 billion. The increase was largely driven by Bitstamp, which processed $10.1 billion during the month and contributed significantly to the growth.

Despite the monthly gain, year-over-year metrics paint a less optimistic picture. August 2026 volume sits 38% beneath the $28.1 billion recorded in August 2025, indicating that Robinhood's crypto business hasn't fully recaptured previous momentum.

The company's prediction markets segment is experiencing higher growth rates on an annual basis. In August, 4.7 billion event contracts changed hands across the platform, representing a 15-fold increase compared to the prior year.
