Robinhood Crypto Trading Volume Surges 24% in September
Robinhood's cryptocurrency trading volume saw significant growth in September, according to recent data. The platform reported a 24% increase in daily notional crypto trading volume compared to August, building on the previous month's surge of 61% over July.
The daily average trading volume for August was $565 million, while if the September growth holds, it would reach around $700 million per day. However, when viewed year-over-year, the current volumes are still lower than those in August 2025, which saw a massive $28.1 billion in crypto trades.
Breaking down the trading volume, Bitstamp contributed $10.1 billion of the total in August, while the Robinhood app itself accounted for $7.4 billion. The company's proprietary blockchain, Robinhood Chain, is also generating significant activity, with daily decentralized exchange activity exceeding $1.5 billion as of early September.
As a result of these developments, Robinhood's customer base and total assets continue to grow. In August, the platform counted 28.6 million funded customers, while total assets approached $384 billion, marking a 26% increase year-over-year since last August.
