Robinhood Embraces Crypto-Inspired Features to Win Active Traders
Robinhood is trying to win more business from active traders on its platform by borrowing ideas from the crypto space.
The brokerage unveiled several new features, including AI agents that can execute trades, crypto perpetual futures with up to 10 times leverage, and weekend trading for U.S. stocks.
The company's vice president of product management, Abhishek Fatehpuria, stated that Robinhood aims to be the number one platform for active traders.
Rival brokerages such as Charles Schwab, Interactive Brokers, and Fidelity have also expanded their trading products in an effort to appeal to this demographic.
The U.S. stock market still trades around a weekday session, but both the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq have filed to expand their trading hours.
Robinhood's new AI agents will allow customers to create a separate trading account for each agent, which can analyze markets, build watchlists, and trade stocks, options, and crypto.
