Robinhood Enters UK Crypto Market Ahead of Regulatory Overhaul

Share

R Robinhood has joined a select group of companies licensed to offer crypto services in the UK. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) records show that Robinhood was added to the country's registry of approved crypto assets firms on July 31.

The listing confirms that Robinhood meets the FCA's money-laundering requirements, or MLRs, which are necessary for crypto asset providers to operate in the UK. The registry now includes just over 50 companies.

The new addition is significant as it comes two years after Robinhood began offering its services in the UK. Initially, it attempted to enter the market by acquiring FCA-registered Ziglu Limited in 2022, but the deal collapsed due to valuation cuts and market shifts.
