Coinbase Updates Platform with New Features and Regulatory Compliance
Coinbase has published its platform update for July 2026, detailing several key developments. The update notes that Coinbase experienced a service outage on July 14 due to a network misconfiguration. This issue affected several transaction services for approximately 50 minutes but did not put customer funds at risk.
Additionally, the update highlights the rollout of USDC-backed margin workflows in collaboration with Marex. These new workflows will allow US-regulated margin operations to use USDC as collateral, alongside instant conversion between fiat and USDC and enhanced reporting features.
Coinbase has also acquired a MiFID license in the UK, enabling local users to access derivatives and equities products on the platform. This broadens Coinbase's regulatory permissions and service scope for users in this region.
