Robinhood is setting its sights on the Middle East, announcing plans to launch its retail investing platform from a new regional headquarters in Dubai next year. The expansion comes as the company continues to diversify its offerings beyond the United States.

Johann Kerbrat, Robinhood's SVP and Crypto and International General Manager, discussed the company's ambitions during an interview with Bloomberg’s Abeer Abu Omar on Horizons Middle East & Africa. Kerbrat also touched on the potential impact of the recent US midterms on the crypto industry.

The move into the Middle East signals Robinhood's commitment to growing its international presence, particularly in a region known for its rapidly evolving financial markets. The company's existing platform already supports crypto trading, and this expansion could further solidify its position in the global digital asset space.

Kerbrat's comments on the US midterms suggest that the new Congress could bring much-needed clarity and regulation to the crypto sector, which has long sought a more defined regulatory framework.
