Robinhood Lets Users Bet on Bitcoin’s Price in 2026
Robinhood has launched a new event contract that lets users predict the price of Bitcoin (BTC) on October 6, 2026, at 3 PM EDT. The contract allows users to bet on whether the price will be $85,700 or above, $85,800 or above, $85,900 or above, or $86,000 or above. The payouts vary based on the predicted price range, with higher payouts for more precise predictions.
The price used to determine the outcome will be based on CF Benchmarks' Real Time Index (RTI). At the last minute before expiration, 60 RTI prices will be collected, and the official value will be the average of these prices. Users can earn $1 for every contract they own if their prediction is correct or choose to close their position before the event resolves.
Trading is available 24 hours a day, except for a brief maintenance period from 3 AM to 5 AM ET every Thursday. The contract resolves within an hour of the event's conclusion. Robinhood notes that futures, options on futures, and cleared swaps trading involve significant risk and are not suitable for everyone.
The platform also highlights that persons employed by any of the Source Agencies or those holding material, non-public information on the underlying asset are prohibited from trading on the contract.
