Robinhood Soars Above $100 Billion Market Cap Amid Blockchain and AI Push
Robinhood's shares have risen nearly 4% to $111 after two consecutive days of strong performance, pushing its market capitalization above $100 billion. Despite this surge, the stock is still down around 4-5% for the year but has gained almost 18% over the past twelve months.
The company's efforts to expand its offerings and infrastructure are likely contributing to this growth. Robinhood Chain, a Layer 2 blockchain running on top of Arbitrum, has officially launched, targeting tokenized real-world assets with several high-profile partners already on board.
This development represents a significant shift for investors as Robinhood transitions from a platform focused exclusively on trading cryptocurrencies to one that fuels decentralized finance. The company is also releasing stock tokens via its self-custody Wallet app in over 120 countries, allowing users to trade tokenized U.S. stocks and utilize them for collateral in DeFi lending protocols.
Robinhood's Agentic Trading tools, introduced for stocks and options in May, are being expanded into crypto markets, enabling eligible users to integrate their preferred AI models and let them handle trading strategies with complete control over position size, capital allocation, and risk limits.
