Robinhood Stock Falls Amid HOOD Summit Excitement Over New Products
Robinhood's stock price took a hit on Wednesday morning despite the excitement generated by its HOOD Summit. The company announced several new products, including Robinhood Agents, which are AI-powered agents that can build strategies and trade around the clock. Morgan Stanley analyst Michael Cyprys was impressed with the active trader enhancements, stating they were broader than expected.
Notably, Morgan Stanley views agentic trading and U.S. perpetual futures as key products to watch. The firm's price target for Robinhood is $150, implying a 30% upside from current levels. Deutsche Bank also reiterated its 'Buy' rating with a target of $134, while KeyBanc raised its price target to $140.
Retail sentiment around HOOD on Stocktwits improved to neutral after the announcement, but chatter remained low. The company's new products include perpetual futures for Bitcoin and Ethereum, which will offer up to 10x leverage. Robinhood Derivatives contracts through Bitstamp are also in the works, with no trading fees until the end of the year.
Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev addressed safety concerns, stating that trade approvals are on by default, allowing customers to review everything the agent does before it executes. The agents work in a separate account and cannot access users' main balances or retirement accounts.
