Robinhood To Add Share Redemptions and Voting Rights for Stock Tokens

Share

Robinhood is working to address concerns over its stock token offerings by adding share redemptions and voting rights, according to CEO Vlad Tenev.

The move comes after criticism from AMC Entertainment CEO Adam Aron, who argued that token holders lacked the same rights as shareholders.

Tenev announced on X that 'in-kind redemption and voting are coming for Robinhood Stock Tokens,' with Johan Kerbrat, head of crypto, providing further details.

Robinhood's stock tokens currently offer price exposure to underlying stocks but do not provide ownership or beneficial rights. Adding in-kind redemption would allow eligible investors to exchange a token for the corresponding share.
