Robinhood Unveils AI Trading Agents Amid Platform Overhaul
Retail brokerage firm Robinhood has introduced its most ambitious set of features yet, aimed at active traders. The announcements were made during the company's HOOD Summit in Houston, where shares of Robinhood (HOOD) ended trading at $116.22.
The main feature is Robinhood Agents, an artificial intelligence-powered system that can conduct market research, develop trading strategies, and execute trades on behalf of users without human intervention.
Over 150,000 users have already adopted agentic trading accounts, with these automated systems accessing Robinhood's infrastructure approximately 30 million times daily. This technology goes beyond typical chatbot functionality, as agents can take independent action to execute buy and sell orders within user-defined parameters.
The platform is also introducing perpetual futures contracts featuring leverage up to 10x for Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum via Bitstamp integration. Weekend equity trading availability, earnings-based contracts, and expanded options trading windows are scheduled to launch beginning in October.
