Robinhood Unveils Blockchain Infrastructure to Support Tokenized Assets
Robinhood is expanding its services beyond brokerage and crypto trading to build its own blockchain infrastructure. The company has launched Robinhood Chain, a permissionless Ethereum-compatible Layer 2 built on Arbitrum.
The new network supports tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), decentralized finance, and other financial applications. It allows for 24/7 trading in eligible tokenized stocks and enables interactions with decentralized exchanges, lending markets, and other on-chain products.
Robinhood Chain has already processed over 150 million transactions and $12 billion in DEX volume since its launch. However, the company still faces technical, legal, and regulatory risks associated with putting financial assets on-chain.
