R Robinhood has secured UK crypto registration after its local subsidiary joined the Financial Conduct Authority's (FCA) crypto asset register on July 31. This move confirms compliance with anti-money laundering rules and allows for cryptocurrency services under the current system.

The FCA introduced registration for crypto firms in 2020, focusing on money laundering and terrorist financing controls. Over 50 firms are listed, including Ripple, Kraken, BlackRock, and BNY.

However, the current registration does not provide automatic approval under Britain's new crypto framework, which will take effect in October 2027. To operate regulated crypto activities after this date, firms must apply for FCA authorization. The window for applications opens on September 30, 2026, and closes on February 28, 2027.
