Robinhood's Crypto Revenue Drops by 38% Amid Market Volatility

Share

Riding on the wave of its ambitious blockchain network, Robinhood Chain, cryptocurrency revenue for Robinhood plummeted by 38% year-over-year in Q2 2026. The company's crypto revenue fell from $160 million to $100 million during this period, while total revenue reached a record $1.31 billion.

The drop in crypto revenue was not solely due to the late launch of Robinhood Chain, which occurred on July 1, one day after the quarter ended. The decline also reflects changing market conditions and user behavior, with retail traders becoming less active due to declining prices and volatility.

Furthermore, the shift towards prediction markets has taken some users away from cryptocurrency trading. Event-contract revenue exceeded $156 million in Q2 2026, surpassing crypto revenue for the quarter.
