Robinhood's recent financial report revealed that its revenue from prediction markets has surpassed that of cryptocurrency trading for the first time. In the second quarter, the company made $156 million in transaction revenue from event-based contracts, while crypto-related transactions brought in $100 million.

This marks a significant shift for Robinhood, which had previously focused on commission-free trading and cryptocurrency trading. The company's CEO, Vlad Tenev, believes that cryptocurrency is still in a growth cycle despite the current bear market.

Despite weak crypto trading revenue, Robinhood saw strong interest in its newest blockchain-based products, including its layer-2 solution on Ethereum called Robinhood Chain and its stablecoin, Robinhood Earn. The latter has seen $200 million in customer deposit inflows, earning a 7% annual percentage yield.
