Robinhood's Record Quarter Driven by Options, Equities, Not Crypto

Share

Robinhood's crypto revenue plummeted by 38% in the second quarter of 2026, compared to the same period the previous year. However, the company's overall transaction-based revenue reached a record high of $776 million, despite the decline in crypto revenue.

The drop in crypto revenue was partly offset by a surge in options trading, which generated $342 million in revenue for the quarter. Event contracts and equities also contributed significantly to Robinhood's revenue, with event contracts bringing in $156 million and equities adding $129 million.

Ryan Adams and others are now watching how well the network can sustain activity after the initial rush of memecoins fades. The mix of stock-token holders, lending assets, memecoins, and recurring DEX volume will show what kind of activity the network can sustain after the initial rush fades.
