SEC Proposes Regulation Crypto Assets Amid Apeing Pre-Launch

Share

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) proposed Regulation Crypto Assets on August 18, which includes tailored exemptions for certain crypto-asset investment contracts. The proposal sets a cap of $5 million over four years and $75 million per year, subject to disclosure.

Apeing is a pre-launch project that has its own stated terms, including a Stage 1 price of $0.0001 and a promotional target of $0.01. It also claims to have more than 12,000 registrations on its email whitelist.

The SEC's proposal is not final law and does not grant automatic status to any project. Apeing has stated that it will conduct audits before launch and expects the presale to occur around early September.
