Roundhill's XRP Covered Call Strategy ETF Seeks Income with Derivatives Validation
Roundhill Investments has filed an amended registration statement for its XRP Covered Call Strategy ETF, which could launch as early as January 29. This income-focused fund tracks the performance of other XRP ETFs rather than investing directly in the digital asset.
The fund's unique approach involves using a synthetic covered call strategy to generate income. It can track both spot XRP ETFs and funds that gain exposure through exchange-traded futures contracts using XRP as the reference asset.
Crypto analyst Richard noted that this filing confirms XRP has been approved as an underlying asset for regulated derivatives, which is a significant development. This means that XRP-linked options are permissible inside an ETF wrapper and that risk committees, counterparties, and clearing structures have already signed off on it.
