Rowe Price Launches Multi-Token Spot Fund for Direct Crypto Access
The landscape of cryptocurrency investing has become increasingly complex in recent years, with evolving regulations and shifting market outlooks for various digital assets. To simplify this process for investors, T. Rowe Price recently launched a new actively managed multi-token spot fund called the T. Rowe Price Active Crypto ETF (TKNZ).
This fund uses an exchange-traded product (ETP) wrapper and relies on active management to identify the best crypto offerings. Unlike other funds that use derivatives or offshore account structures, TKNZ holds the actual crypto tokens for more direct access to the asset class.
The TKNZ fund charges a 75 basis point fee to actively invest in a diversified group of crypto assets. It combines top-down and bottom-up analysis using T. Rowe Price's fundamental research capabilities, assessing factors like tokenomics, market dynamics, blockchain technology, and long-term growth to build a portfolio of five to 15 crypto assets.
The fund's ability to offer exposure to multiple crypto tokens within a single wrapper sets it apart from other options in the market. As interest in the so-called 'debasement trade' grows, particularly with pressure on the U.S. dollar building, TKNZ may play a strong diversification role, making its multi-token approach a standout option for crypto exposure.
