RUNNER Token Deploys Innovative Treasury on Injective Blockchain
The RUNNER token has taken an innovative approach to its treasury by allowing it to trade on Injective's blockchain. The project, RunUp, launched on October 1, 2026, with a total supply of 1 billion tokens, and now its treasury is holding a fixed 2x long position in INJ, the native token of Injective.
The treasury uses profits from this position to purchase RUNNER on the open market and permanently destroy those tokens, reducing their supply. This means that if INJ rises, the treasury will profit faster and use those gains to buy back and burn RUNNER tokens. Conversely, if INJ falls, losses will arrive faster for the treasury.
The project received governance sign-off from Injective via Proposal #704, which covered RunUp's Native Factory and Native Treasury contracts. The factory handles token creation, while the treasury contract manages the on-chain futures positions. RUNNER holders should treat the buy-and-burn mechanism as conditional on profits, as it was described.
