Russia Accuses Telegram Founder of Aiding Terrorism, GRAM Price Drops

Russia has formally charged Telegram founder Pavel Durov with aiding terrorist activities and issued an international arrest warrant. The accusation stems from Telegram's alleged failure to remove content used by Ukrainian special services and terrorist organizations to prepare and coordinate sabotage, terrorist activities, and cyberfraud in Russia.

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) claims that certain content on Telegram was used to organize illegal activities on Russian territory, leading to proceedings against Durov. Neither Durov nor Telegram has commented on the allegations, which come amidst ongoing legal proceedings against Durov in France.

Last month, Telegram's native layer blockchain changed its token's name from Toncoin (TON) to Gram (GRAM). Following the latest developments, the price of GRAM dropped by approximately 2% and is currently trading at $1.40.
