Russia Eases Qualified Investor Rules Ahead of Crypto Rollout
The Bank of Russia has introduced a new domestic testing route for individuals seeking qualified investor status. This move is expected to increase access to higher cryptocurrency purchase limits under Russia's regulated market framework.
Under the revised rules, investors can gain qualified status by passing an approved financial knowledge test and presenting a certificate from a recognized Russian institution. The change takes effect on August 31.
Qualified retail investors will be able to access annual crypto purchase limits ten times higher than those for non-qualified investors, up to 3 million rubles ($38,000).
