Russia Expands Regulated Crypto Access Amid Bank Preparations
Russia has expanded access to regulated cryptocurrencies as of September 1, allowing qualified and non-qualified investors to trade through intermediaries. This change is part of new crypto rules that have taken effect in the country.
Major banks are preparing infrastructure to support this new development, while the Bank of Russia has proposed limiting banks' crypto-related risk to 1% of their capital. Non-qualified investors will face annual purchase limits, and cryptocurrency payments inside Russia remain prohibited.
