Russia Proposes Retail Trading for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT
Russia has taken its first major step towards regulating cryptocurrencies by allowing investors to trade three major assets, according to a proposal from the country's central bank.
The Bank of Russia has proposed that retail investors be allowed to buy and sell Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Tether's USDT stablecoin on cryptocurrency exchanges, with annual limits set at 300,000 rubles ($3,700) per intermediary.
The proposal also highlights the importance of investor education, stating that all traders will need to undergo testing and become familiar with the risks associated with crypto investing before making any transactions.
