Russians Remain Skeptical of Crypto Ahead of Restrictive Regulations
The upcoming legalization of cryptocurrency in Russia has left most citizens skeptical about its use cases.
According to a survey conducted by Rambler&Co, nearly 69% of respondents do not expect any real benefits from using cryptocurrencies despite their impending legalization next month.
Only a small percentage of participants plan to spend crypto on purchases from abroad (8%), use it for long-term investments and diversification (6%), or employ digital money in business activities (4%).
The findings come as the State Duma, Russia's lower house of parliament, has passed a bill regulating the cryptocurrency market. The legislation still needs approval from the Federation Council and President Putin before taking effect on September 1, 2027.
