Russia's Crypto User Base Nears 20 Million
Russia's finance ministry estimates that around 20 million people in the country use cryptocurrencies, holding more than $44 billion worth of digital assets.
The total crypto investments by Russian citizens currently stand at 3.7 trillion rubles (over $44 billion), according to Deputy Minister of Finance Ivan Chebeskov.
Chebeskov noted that this amount includes direct holdings of digital currencies as well as certain financial products linked to them.
The volume of cryptocurrency transactions in Russia reaches an average of 50 billion rubles per day (nearly $600 million), with the number expected to grow by another 10 million in 2027, after transactions with digital assets were legalized.
