Russia's Moscow Exchange Expands Crypto Derivatives with Perpetual Futures Launch
Moscow Exchange, Russia's largest stock exchange, is expanding its crypto derivatives offerings. Starting September 22, 2026, perpetual futures contracts will be available on five major digital assets: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Ripple, and Tron (TRX). These cash-settled contracts do not require traders to take delivery of the underlying cryptocurrencies.
The new instruments are traded under contract codes BTCUSDF, ETHUSDF, SOLUSDF, XRPUSDF, and TRXUSDF, respectively. They will be quoted in U.S. dollars based on the corresponding MOEX index value, with settlements carried out in Russian rubles. Access is restricted to qualified investors only.
The launch of perpetual digital currency futures marks an important milestone in the development of the Russian derivatives market. Maria Patrikeeva, Managing Director of the Derivatives Market at Moscow Exchange, framed the launch clearly: 'The launch of perpetual digital currency futures is an important milestone in the development of the Russian derivatives market.'
The new contracts will complement an existing line that already includes 31 instruments across currency pairs, government bonds, precious metals, and Russian and foreign securities.
