Russia's Moscow Stock Exchange Launches Perpetual Futures for Top Cryptos
The Moscow Stock Exchange in Russia is set to launch perpetual futures for Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP, and TRON (TRX) on September 22. This move comes after Russia's President Vladimir Putin signed a law allowing regulated crypto trading.
The contracts will be cash-settled in Russian rubles and limited to qualified investors. They are not greenlit for spot trading, with delivery not in the underlying assets. The Moscow Stock Exchange already offers monthly and other cash-settled crypto derivatives, having recorded over 72,000 traders and total transaction volume exceeding 600 billion rubles.
With this development, Russia's crypto market is set to grow further amid strong investor demand for digital asset derivatives. The country's crypto law has allowed licensed trading, custody, and cross-border settlements. As a result, the prices of Bitcoin, ETH, SOL, XRP, and TRX have jumped, with some assets surging more than 2% in the past 24 hours.
