Russia's Smart Engines Creates Wearable Tomograph with Revolutionary Imaging Tech
Russian company Smart Engines has developed the world's first wearable free-positioning tomograph. The device, weighing less than 5 kg, is designed for use in various settings, including medical and veterinary institutions.
The tomograph uses X-SLAM technology to determine the position of the source in space, combining computer vision, tomography, and artificial intelligence. This allows it to build a 3D model from just 10-15 X-ray images, significantly reducing the time and radiation dose required compared to standard CT scans.
The device is based on serial X-ray equipment from ELTEKH-MED and was developed without state funding, with investments totaling $5 million. The technology has been patented in Russia and is being tested for various applications, including flaw detection and customs inspection.
