S&P 500 Hits Record Highs While Bitcoin Sleeps
The S&P 500 has reached record highs near 7,800, up around 13% this year. Meanwhile, Bitcoin remains stuck in a $10,000 range for two months and is down slightly on the year at $63,500.
This divergence between the stock market and cryptocurrency is notable, as it challenges the assumption that a strong, risk-on, liquidity-rich market automatically lifts crypto. In fact, this is close to the first year since 2014 that stocks rise while Bitcoin falls.
Institutions are reallocating away from crypto, with Bitcoin's ETF outflows confirming this trend. This selective capital flow into equities and AI, rather than cryptocurrency, reflects a considered preference rather than panic. As such, it presents a sober headwind for crypto, which is not competing for the marginal dollar on favorable terms.
A big-multiple thesis almost always relies on the idea that money will rotate into crypto and cascade down into small, high-beta tokens. AlphaPepe's presale case must stand on its own merit, without relying on a market rotation that is currently flowing in the opposite direction.
